Prayther, Richie Schneider, Chip Hester and C.J. Clay, along with Loris' Jonathan Willard, are the area's North-South selections.

Hard case

Barrie's wife in Finding Neverland (with Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and Dustin Hoffman). Woody Allen gave her the title role in Melinda and Melinda, but she still says her career isn't where she wants it to be.

"There's more I want to do. I want to be more involved in the content, and I want to make stories...that I would personally want to experience. I guess I just want the whole thing to feel a bit more personal."

Based in LA, Mitchell calls her daily life "quite boring at the moment".

"I go to yoga and...I live near the beach, so I ride my bike around. I draw pictures and I write in my journal." Her reticence inhibits further questions.

Mitchell famously told a journalist that she'd rather disclose her bank balance than reveal whether she had a boyfriend.

Councilman MikeK Recalls Knievel Action Figure

Top: Young MikeK playing with Evel Knievel action figure; bottom: MikeK receives inspiration from his childhood friends before leaving for a Coeur d'Alene City Council meeting.

I had a classic Evel Knievel motorcycle riding action figure when I was a kid. The stunts my brothers and I would stage for that motorcycle toy were legendary (riding out a second story window, chasing the dog around the house without getting chewed to ribbons, you name it). RIP Evel. I wonder what happened to Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man who played the role of Evel's arch-nemesis in the boyhood action figure wars?/Councilman MikeK.

Question: What was your favorite action figure/doll when you were little?

Ed Long from Canada writes: '..... r & d driving innovation ....'

Put it on the wall.

Everybody from General Motors to economists to politicians to academics have said the above. Innovation, high complexity manufacturing processes, and intellectual property are the future for any industry in Canada.

Pull up the article on cost break-down of an iPod, made in China. Over sixty percent of that cost is from other countries' contributions including a significant amount for intellectual property (design) from the U.S.

It is counter productive to protect future archaic jobs. Posted 29/02/08 at 10:34 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .
